Not too old to Rock-n-Roll and way too young to die!

This is the first concert I ever went to in 1976. It was back in the day of full day festival concerts and there were 4 bands and the famous "Tullavision". I was with a boy I really liked and was so nervous I refused to eat in front of him! I was huge Tull fan then, and after many years and many more concerts I am still a huge Tull fan. I thought I was going to miss this tour as I will be in Kansas on business while they are here in San Diego, but my wonderful husband booked tickets and a room in Indio, CA the day after I return. I have followed this group and it's main man Ian Anderson since the tender young age of 15. Athough the huge hair is gone and he like the rest of us have added many years; he still rocks and can bust a move on one leg whilst playing the flute. The venues are much more intimate and he frequently brings on young local talent to play with him on state. Think he can use a middle aged fan with a pink electric violin? HA! Any other Tull fans out there? Can I get an Amen Sistah'? Any please share with the rest of us, memories of your first concert!

Happy Birthday USA!

      I am so proud to be American! Even with our faults and issues we are still the greatest country in the world! Enjoy the holiday weekend however and where ever you chose, but take a few moments to ponder and be grateful for our freedoms. Take a few moments to remember all our military branches and pray for all those that have volunteered to serve and protect our way of life both home and abroad. Pray also for our police and firefighters that keep us safe domestically on this holiday and every day.

A wonderful day

Hello and Happy Sunday... er... almost Monday.

We had a great family day today... due to 4 different and busy schedules, the time we are all four together is fairly scarce...but today was one of those happy days! We got up early and went to early Church service with plans to go have breakfast at the beach afterward. We ran into some old friends from our old Church and had breakfast with them. Not at the beach but it didn't matter... we were so happy to see them. We had a great visit and are making plans for a summer barbecue!

We ran errands and then were basically couch potatoes for the afternoon. BBQ'd cheeseburgers and then napped off the great dinner. No art or many chores got done today, but it was worth it to just hang with my beautiful kids and hubby.

HEY!

Yes... it's me...

Maija decided I needed a blog. And for those of you that know her, know that if she wants you to have a blog, then a blog you shall have. I spent a few days her recently and thought it was the cats or dogs that were sneaking into my bed, but no... it was Maija whispering her sweet blot nothings in my sleepy ear. Sort of like hypnosis doncha think?

Seriously... I was so blessed to stay with Maija while we both took a wonderful class which I will post about later. She is the most gracious hostess and I felt like a princess. Not a queen mind you, because that title is reserved for Maija! She has the most beautiful home and a lovely family! Her husband makes up funny names for people and brought out a telescope to show us Mars one nite! Her boys are very nice as well. The oldest was very friendly but had more important things to do than hang with us. I offered to go clubbing with he and his homies, but they declined... go figure! Her youngest is very bright and we spent time together discussing sports, religion and a bit of politics.

So... here I am in blog-land, flailing about not knowing what to do. I beg your patience while I learn, which as some of you that spent the last few days with me, know is quite a presumption on my part. Learning that is...

Since I am new and don't have a clue... (seriously... I did not mean to rhyme) I am going to try to insert a photo of somthing I made a while ago... bear with me folks!

This is Maija and I am pleased to announce after years of bugging Tanya to begin a blog, she has finally relented.  That's because she has been in my home for three days and has heard nothing else.  I even creep into her bedroom at night and whisper softly in her ear "Start a blog Tanya, start a blog!".
